What makes this ritual special, according to Joana
According to Mandalay Spa therapist Joana Santos, this ritual stands out because Kobido is integrated into a radiance-focused treatment. Gentle exfoliation prepares the skin, facial massage stimulates the face through precise movements, and the final hydration is adapted to the skin’s condition at that moment. The result is a brief yet carefully considered experience that goes beyond a traditional express facial.
Recommended for anyone who…
- Feels that their skin is dull, tired or lacking radiance.
- Is looking for premium facial care with a shorter duration.
- Wants to prepare the face before an event, journey or special occasion.
- Values the combination of manual technique, gentleness and hydration.
Joana Santos’s perspective
When someone arrives for the Kobido Radiance Ritual, I first try to understand how the skin looks on that day. Some faces appear duller, while others are more visibly marked by tiredness, lack of rest, travel or a demanding routine. Before beginning, I observe the skin’s texture, the eye area, the expression and the level of sensitivity, because even within a 40-minute ritual there is always space for personalisation.
This treatment is special because it combines three complementary moments: gentle exfoliation, stimulating Kobido techniques and hydrating care adapted to the skin’s needs. Exfoliation helps prepare the face, while the manual Kobido work brings rhythm, precision and vitality to the experience. I adjust the pressure and speed of the movements according to the skin’s response and the areas that need more attention, such as the cheekbones, facial contour, forehead or neck.
I like to keep this ritual very fluid and unhurried so that the client feels it is a short but complete treatment. My intention is for the face to appear fresher, more radiant and more comfortable at the end, with the feeling of cared-for skin and a more awakened expression.
